Building a Future in Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing
Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing allows associates to explore key concepts in design, production, and technology within the field. They will learn to use tools like CAD software, understand lean manufacturing principles, and gain hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment. Students will also develop problem-solving, project management, and communication skills, preparing them for a wide range of careers in engineering, manufacturing, and technology.
Associates will have an opportunity to explore careers such as:
Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Structural)
Manufacturing Technician
Production & Project Manager
CAD Designer/Drafter
Robotics Technician
Construction Manager & Building Inspector
Architectural & Landscape Designer
Past projects in the fall semester include:
Assisting with renovation plans for the new KCI Airport terminal
Designing safer vehicle prototypes for local roads
Analyzing data to track water usage in Kansas City
Proposing designs to utilize unused community areas
Creating products to alert pet owners when their pet is in a vehicle on a hot day
Observing manufacturing lines to improve efficiency and safety
